The Springing Snail

Date: 6/23/2022

It’s nighttime and I’m leaving a house party. The outside of the house looks like my dad’s, but the street I’m on looks like Nicole and Brody’s. My car is parked in the garage and there are cars parked behind it in the driveway. Caity comes out and gets in my car. She maneuvers it around the ones behind me so that I can leave. I go to get in after she moves it, but the hood is popped up and blocking my front view. I get out to close it and find a lawnmower engine in the car. I figure someone is working on something in there, so I walk away to wait for it to be ready. Jonathan McQuitty is outside now and I strike up a conversation with him. I’m telling him about my dad and how annoyingly particular he is. While I’m talking, Jon keeps walking away, but I can tell he’s still listening, so I follow along. After a little while of this, I begin to feel like I might be annoying him, so I go back to my car, which is now a lawnmower. I look in the backseat, which somehow still looks like a regular car, and find Michael Zefiretto and Caity sitting there. Michael asks me what kind of car I drive… I get back home and go to the bathroom to change into my pajamas. I leave the door open, and when I take my pants off, Isak walks up. Neither of us acknowledges the fact that I’m in only a shirt and underwear. He tells me that he found a snail on his pants. He holds his hand out to show me, but the snail flies out of his hand. It begins hopping around on the floor, leaving a spot of slime behind each time it lands. It continues to hop around the bathroom and it lands on my arm for a brief moment. The feeling of it freaks me out. It makes its way out of the bathroom and into the kitchen. We both chase it until it finally stops outside of my bedroom. Lilo walks over to see what all of the commotion is about and then she goes to sniff the snail. I pull her away before she can try to eat it.
