Zombie apocalypse dream!

By I dream of Harding

There was a distinct lack of gore and fear, it was more focused on logistical difficulties of leaving the city Left with my housemates. The train station was on the brink of chaos, the displays said cancellations but we pushed our way onto a train. I had a vision of a coach being stopped and all aboard being consumed. The train was really pleasant, I think I was trying to steer my dream away from violence and horror. I left my seat and climbed onto the roof of the train. The pace was a trundle and smooth on the track. I relaxed. I moved down the train to discover it was in fact a canal boat. As I was looking down at the tiler, we went through a tunnel. As I struggled to orientate my body and work out which bits of metal I was supposed be holding onto, I ended up being pushed off the train. The train disappeared into the darkness of the tunnel. I attempted to run after it but gave up immediately realising it was futile. I contemplated my sudden loss of communication with my housemates and their not knowing where I was or what happened to me. Now that I was alone, I cursed myself for not watching enough programmes and films about survivalist and zombie narratives. I climbed on top of the tunnel and up a green slope. I climbed a great height. The surrounding landscape was perplexing and abstract. I suddenly became aware of weather and how it might change at any moment.
