Shade

This began almost immediately after my previous dream, involving the boy I killed. I believe the two dreams must be linked. Recently I’ve been noticing a figure appearing in my dreams, and it isn’t the center theme. More like a side detail that’s always there. He’s got the silhouette of a man, but he’s tall and very thin, with a long neck. He looks more like a shadow than a person, and he’s got two very large, white glowing eyes that look truly lifeless. He has dry, black tree branches extending out of the sides of his head, possibly the most unsettling part about him. And yet I’m never afraid when he appears in my dreams. If anything, I simply notice him, standing in a corner, or on the other side of a window. He doesn’t move, he just stands and looks at me. Maybe he’ll cock his head slowly to the side, or blink, but that’s the extent of it. I call him Shade, for lack of a better name. The oddest part is that the only time I feel concerned about him is when I’m awake.
