Sweeping

Evidently this dream is about family dynamics but I will just write and not interpret. It was in very vivid color. I am in a very large and airy house. It has many rooms and many windows and the floor is varnished wood and very shiny and of a very pretty oak color. I start sweeping the house which does not look dirty but as I sweep I gather all kinds of relatively minor detritus, hair, dust, etc. as I go into the rooms I find some of my relatives. My long dead favorite uncle is trying on a black suit someone gave him that needs a sleeve repaired. His grandchildren in another room are preparing to go away to military training where they can only be visited twice a week. They are wrapped in green cloth, you can only see their faces and that will be their uniform. In one particular room, there is a wall that on first sight looks beautifully decorated with Chinese motifs but on closer inspection the different panels and masks are broken and I have to throw some of them out. In another room I find an old friend of my mother’s with her two Chinese crested dogs. Her dogs have no hair and I ask her if she put them in the oven and she explains that Chinese Crested are hairless and she did not do anything to them. I continue to methodically go from room to room. My mother appears, looking like when she was forty years old. Her attitude is imperious...she is annoyed that I am sweeping because she tells me everything is clean. I show her the dust, etc. and she tells me that I can continue to sweep then.
