I’m not the man.

Scene one. Driving at night. I’m so sleepy I can barley keep my eyes open enough to see where I’m going. I see some refineries and think it must be Long Beach heading south bound to San Diego. I check the map and can barely make out the details but I get an idea of where I am. I make an exit and find myself driving on brand new asphalt. Before I know it I find I accidentally drove into the LB gran prix race track and panic to get out. 2nd scene. I’m in San Diego. Gladys, her husband and I are at a karaoke bar. For some reason we all look so much older. (15 years older get it Amanda?😉) It’s an awkward feeling knowing I don’t belong there. She orders a margarita and I ask if she can take alcohol. She laughs it’s just one. So we all have our drinks and she goes up on stage to sing a song. The effects of the liquor make her somewhat clumsy but she’s having a good time while her husband and I just awkwardly sit there cause, well.... I’m trying to get at his wife 😂. It’s closing time and she’s still up there singing. The waiter asks if it’s okay with me that he takes the microphone away. I reply fine by me but you might want to ask her husband and I point at him. So the waiter tries but she wrestles it off his hands and he comes back to me and tells me, sorry but I’m gonna have to use more force please don’t take it personal. Again, I’m not the man! he is. I think to myself, why is he even asking me. What? Am I an intimidating dude. Maybe that frown on my face. My kids say I always look like this➡️😠🤨. Finally he takes the mic away and she comes back to our table Stumbling and all boozed up. I say to her, 1 margarita huh? I’d like to see what happens with 2.🤔 (really i would like to see what happens with 2😀) we get up and make our way to our cars. It’s late and raining and I have to drive back to LA. Again that drowsy feeling comes over me and I wonder if it’s safe to drive like that but I do.
