The town evacuates to a canyon and I befriend a man who makes goggles

My mummy and I were in a canyon, but there were various shops and markets in its walls. I think everyone in town had to for some reason evacuate and now we were all here. There was a speech/performance on one side of the canyon, and everyone was gathered on the opposite side. I wandered off and met a man who made goggles for a living, and he gave me a pair which worked like binoculars. We became BFF'S for some reason. Then we were standing on opposite sides of the canyon and he was about to jump off into the abyss down below. I can't remember what happened then, but I was really sad later so I'm guessing he did. To cheer me up, my mummy took me to a pet store and said that I could choose either a baby pony or a puppy! But I remembered that my mummy would never do that in reality, so I found out I was dreaming. But instead of controlling my dream, I was miserable and just wanted to wake up.
