We rented our family’s old house for a reunion. It was all remodeled with metallic surfaces everywhere. The floor was a copper material with embossed designs of a circus. Many of the walls were also copper embossed and it had furniture built in. The place suddenly seemed about double the size and much more grandiose and the basement was all remodeled too. When I woke in the morning, I was surprised everyone was already up and eating breakfast. One of the aunts had made a beautiful display of homemade donuts. Later, a cousin told me she had just had a baby and asked me to hold him. He was all wrapped up in a blanket but kept squirming loose and little by little, I realized it wasn’t a baby but rather a chicken. 🐔 I wasn’t sure if she really thought it was a baby or if she was teasing me so I went along with it. Then everyone my age disappeared and when I asked my mom, she said they went to the dance. I asked why she didn’t tell me about the dance as she said she had organized it 27 months ago. She was evasive and I felt slighted.
