question: anti depressants and dreams.

Do antidepressants affect dreams? The doctor put me on Escitalapram and it seems like when I am on them, I stop dreaming or at least I don't remember them. I ran out for a couple weeks and started dreaming again. Filled prescription and dreams stopped again. I have quit taking them as they weren't fixing what I want to fix. Thought depression was cop out diagnosis from a doctor that just doesn't know where else to look. Dreams are returning again.
