Me and my mother go to this pawn shop/mysterious and strange objects place which gave off like a circus feel. It had big long hallways, many grand rooms with random things. There was a main room with a bunch of the items for sale and other rooms with attractions which were really just different looking people made into acts by the owner. He owned these people through lifelong contracts which I find out later. We walk in and there’s a host at the front as there would be a restaurant and she greets us. We go to the main room and she follows right back up behind us with a brand “new arrival” which of course catches my eye. I sit down in front of it and it is a latched box to hold ashes, but it’s a bit more elaborate. I flip up the latch and it spins for a moment (as if untwisted itself) before the lid pops open with surprisingly someone’s ashes still in the box. The ashes get all on my hands and I wanted to wash them off but then I notice towards the bottom of the box there were a bunch of drawers. I open them one by one and see different colored powders( obviously not ashes) more like dyes and if not already powder they were compressed blocks. The colors were lavender, a bright orangey red, but most of them were like a pretty turquoise color, the compressed blocks turquoise as well. One of the drawers had the turquoise and red color together. While I’m being curious and looking at this a boy jogs past and it was clear he worked here. He had caramel skin, gentle eyes, nice sort be thick eyebrows, brown curly floppy hair with a middle part, stopped before touching his shoulders. I felt his height was tall but still a bit shorter than me. I feel about 5’9/ 5’10. Same age as me or at most 2 years older. His smile was contagious, he seemed so happy and I recognized him. I’m not sure where we’ve already met but he recognized me as well because after disappearing past the wall he takes a few steps back to see if it was me, giving a small grin that said “what are you doing here, girl?” In a friendly way of course. I just looked at him like “oh shit...didn’t think I’d see you here.” And then I look back at my mom and she’s like how the hell do you know that boy? I just shrugged it off and now that I was done playing with the box I was still pretty grossed out that I had somebody’s ashes all on my hands. I get up and go back into the big hallways. I see a restroom sign but as I got closer it said “Queer Female Restroom” I was like it’s still female though right? So I go to peek as if I was about to go in and I saw a man drying his hands so I assume maybe it was for trans or feminine Men?? I have no clue but I knew it wasn’t a restroom for me. So I ask myself where is the regular female restroom? I couldn’t find it, but while looking through the different rooms I find the owner of this “establishment” and went to ask him where the restrooms were. He was ignoring me because he was too busy being rude to all the people he owned. A lot of them wore masks or goofy costumes and he was reminding them that they need to do their best and hurry to the show because they were going to be doing it for another however many years or months. I see that boy I knew running up in the background from across the back of the room as he came in from a different door I suppose. He had a fit body wearing a tank and some shorts. Grabbing a shirt and trying to hurry and put it on before the show. The owner gets mad at him for running late and I come to find out his contract lasts 9 years! I was like you poor thing what the hell. He just treated them so poorly. An older, deformed man offered to take on all his 9 years, looking out for the boy. It was just strange because maybe he was poor and the owner gave him this job with that strange contract and he didn’t have a choice. There was nothing peculiar about him. I was upset and yelled at the owner standing up for the guy because this whole operation he was running was absurd. No one deserves to be treated like that, and he still ain’t tell me where tf I can wash my hands! I was over it lol, but then I woke up. 🤷🏻♀️.
