Amateur Theater

In this dream, I am attending a Theater Group as a guest...but, later gets asked to join the group of amateur Actors. The Theater is set up to be a very interactive experience where the audience is actually part of the Stage Props. The play that the team of actors and I are working on was a continuous drama that featured a different act each night. Here is where it gets a little mind-bending. The audience and the actors start to confuse what is Theater and what is real. My character was an insecure androgynous who was under suspicion for being a pedophile (young Michael Jackson). People started actually hating me and harassing me during and between shows. I would ask them if they knew I was just playing a role in a Play? They seem to understand but didn't care. Even the actors would mix up my stage name with my real name. I was embarrassed and flattered at the same time. Clearly, I didn't want people to think that I am really a misfit, but I was impressed with how everyone was blown away by my acting abilities. Eventually, I folded under pressure. So, I started incorporating parts of my true self to the play to avoid being threatened and ridiculed. Strangely, the play was a huge hit even with my radical changes to the script on the fly. Ultimately, I was acting like a character who was actually acting like me.
