Spectacular Colorful Sassafras tree

In my dream, there was a wide, mature sassafras tree in front of a store front, maybe a restaurant. I was immediately drawn to it and was super excited I was able to recognize it by the three distinctive leaves it has. But the tree was very colorful with other leaves as well. It may have been autumn because the other leaves were extremely colorful, from varying shades of yellow to orange to red. I was so excited, I pointed it out to a random stranger due to its medicinal properties. He said he grew up with that tree all around, but never found anything special about it. He put a small fruit or berry from the tree in his mouth, chewed it, and said, “See? Nothing.” But I knew he needed to try a bigger, more mature fruit or berry to get results. In the dream, the tree was different than in real life, because in the waking world, I know this tree is known for its roots, and is used to make root beer. I’ve never seen the leaves change color in fall, but I never came across this tree regularly to experience if the leaves change color or not.
