I’m in a big cruise ship with my family, sort of in the middle of the ship. We start to see a bunch of people fleeing and getting sucked into a whirlpool in the lobby. My parents tell me the ship is sinking. I deny it, saying they would have warned us. But... It occurs to me that the ship is indeed violently sinking and I had just been willfully ignoring that. There are no alarms, no evacuation warning, no nothing, but I can see the ship pitching violently. Suddenly starts water bursting in through the walls beside me and I can feel the pressure around me increasing as the ship plummets deep into the ocean. I know I’m going to drown or pass out from the pressure and I feel so powerless. The terror is so real. But I don’t try to fight it. I just hope that I will die quickly so my suffering will be over soon. Later I’m on a similar ship. My mom and I are in a lifeboat with 20 or so other people. It will be dropped in a fast-flowing canal that will bring us out to sea so that we can get off the ship and be rescued. We have all our stuff in the lifeboat—I have my backpack and suitcase. As they drop the lifeboat in, we brace ourselves and unfortunately the boat capsizes, dumping everyone and their luggage into the canal. Everyone swims out. I keep diving back into the canal to retrieve my luggage even though my mom is telling me not to because it’s dangerous. The canal is fast flowing so if I don’t get out in time I will get dumped into the sea. But I want to retrieve my money, laptop etc from my backpack. Becomes frustrating quickly as I keep retrieving things and then dropping them back in (like spilling the coins from my purse back in).
