My very good friend Kelton had gotten severely injured somehow and I was hanging out with his brother Thomson at his house when I found out. They told me it had happened under "suspicious circumstances" which I was intrigued by. He had hurt his legs quite badly and might be in a wheelchair for a very long time. The family and I couldn't see him because he was currently in surgery but we were all very concerned together. We were all just sitting around the house not saying a word when we got a phone call that there had been a complication and Kelton had died due to excessive blood loss. We all began to cry except something was off. I had known this family for a very long time and yet something was off. Keltons mother, Heather, called "his father". She was divorced but she called a man who didn't sound like her husband aka Keltons father and the man said he would be right over. I was surprised to see a tall bald black man instead of a short white man enter the house. He had a weird grin on his face and said we all should talk outside. He began giving a summary of how great Kelton was and all the stuff he did in his life when I stopped listening to him. I didn't even know this man and wondered how in the world he knew this family and Kelton to such a high extent. He got mad at me when he discovered I wasn't listening. I assured him I was and he began to quiz me on what he just said. But before I could even answer Heather answered for me. The tall man got angry that she didn't even give me a chance to answer before blurting out the answer. I told the man I would surely get it right next time and I was indeed listening. He grinned at me and as he began to speak he said some things that began to worry me. I couldn't describe it but his stories didn't add up and it was really weird. Eventually he said something that caught Heathers attention and she asked "if you were at the house.. then how could you have seen Kelton looking shocked when he was at the apartment?" The man stopped talking and didn't really know how to explain. Heather and I both knew something was wrong. His brother Thomson who had just been listening innocently this whole time gave us this worried look. We all knew he had killed Kelton or at least had something to do with it. We tried to act, we tacked him but he was a lot stronger than any of us and all of us. He ran down the long twisty driveway they had, and told us we were smarter than he had anticipated, then laughed and said "prove it" then took off. We all just stood there not knowing what to do. We called the cops but they ran his name and no one showed up. They ran everything about him we told them but no one showed up. The police said they can't do anything. We tried to assure them this man exists and he was just here but they refused to believe us. Kelton was dead and the killer shall never be caught.
