I was at the site of one of most important clients gathering information about what their new working environment would need. I interviewed the IT manager who was always hard to get in touch with. He was very eccentric and had to sit in his chair whether we were at his desk or not. Once we were finished (or rather he was finished talking to us), he curled up under his desk with blankets and stuffed animals and fell asleep. All while we were standing there confused because we had not been given direction that the meeting was over. As we were walking away, I was then told the employees of this company are allowed to take naps whenever they want. I then decided we were missing program from our new designed space for them, because we should be providing them places to nap. That discovery led me on a journey to interview lots of different employees from different departments to find out when/how/how often they sleep at work, and the employees were all very eccentric in their own way.
