Defeating The Bear

Not a lucid dream but it happened twice last night. I'm in an open area of a woods and a man is standing alone some distance away from me, under some trees. Out of the woods comes a huge bear and bites the man's head. His head entirely inside the bear's huge gnashing mouth. --- In the 1st version of the dream, I wake up before it seems he survives. (Astonishing dreams often wake me up.) - He doesn't seem to survive the attack and seems to go limp and dead, killed by the bear. --- In the 2nd version the action is identical but then he pushes the bear off and begins punching the bear, and the bear runs away. He survives. --- If not a lucid dream, I'm pretty good about interpreting my own dreams, I've read several books about it. The Bear is the symbol of Russia and the reports about election hacking have been very much on my mind. I have ideas about what both versions of this dream represent.
