My manager got food poisoning so asked me t do a speech at the companies end of year Christmas Party. I made a joke about how he always seems to be ill when it comes to public speaking, everyone laughed but the next day he pulled me to one side and told me I had been fired due to being disrespectful. He gave me £200 and told me to leave straight away. I woke up genuinely thinking I had been fired.
