Nightmare

This dream was vivid, but I have little remembrance of it. So, I remember being along in the dark, with the sense of fear. it felt like a heavy blanket was put over me, that’s how strong it was. Then, I suddenly awakened, with the sense that someone was in the room. I look to see a figure with a light, although it was just that my perception was changed, and I misinterpreted the light in my room for something else. Just a mild hallucination. As I was drifting off to sleep, I told myself in a daze that this was a nightmare because of the far and anxiety, not because of the scary elements. Anyway, I have the same exact dream again, and I did not even realize that I was dreaming (damn you prefrontal cortex!). I woke up normally to the sound of my alarm. Just as a side note, I’ve been experimenting with myself to see the correlation between the type of brainwave that I listen to and the amount of dream remembrance, sleep quality, and dream intensity (sensations, images, etc). If I listen to a brainwave for memory (theta waves) I usually remember my dream enough to tell a story. My main goal by doing this experiment is to experience a Lucid Dream. But, I must do reality checks in the real world in order to make that possible, since your habits generally make their way into your dreams. So yeah, that was my experience!
