Huge tower of cats and fires

I was on a huge tower that had many levels. I was working with a big group o people. I was at least somewhat compelled to be there against my will. We were instructed to light candles and fires near each section where the cats are was set up in a little area like they have for them at the pet stores. The tower was several hundred feet tall. This was very hard work and had taken a long time to complete. I felt nervous and apprehensive about everything going according to schedule and doing my part correctly. I had one station to man near the very top. It was now night time and time to do whatever it was we were doing. A big bowling ball or something like a bowling ball was released and as it came by we were meant to light our section on fire. A recurring dream character showed up, a man that is a mixture of my dad as a younger person and someone I knew in real life who has some social and mental problems and trouble holding a job, was meant to go down with the ball and help the fires go correctly. Suddenly a few seconds after the ball had been released and everything seemed to be going OK we were told to stop and put out all the fires and get the cats back in their houses. Something had gone wrong or started too soon. This man ran back up a few minutes later and was a little bit burnt and sweating. He was flustered and I could tell he had messed something up. It looks like the whole project was may be ruined or greatly delayed.
