slow dancing

i was in a snowy setting. it looked like a TV winter ball or smthn. i was kinda sad when i looked around and everyone had a partner n i didnt. then (we'll call them She) She entered the room and said hi. i went around a table and ran over to hug her. i loved her, a lot, but irl i was starting to realize i was not IN love with her so it's a little hard for me to be around her. anyway, she grabbed my hand hand and hugged me. then, as simply as it seemed, i asked her to slow dance with me, which we did, one hand behind her and one stuck out with fingers intertwined. it was really pretty simple, but everything i wanted. liz, a friend i was talking to earlier called out to me, i said no i didnt wanna go with them, without latching off of Her. What seemed like hours of the intimacy of slow dancing passed as we were the center of the room and danced in each others arms, almost carefree but present with one another. then i woke up to a warm feeling inside. It was love.
