snake dog

there is a forest right behind my house so at night i hear all sorts of amimal noises like birds chirping and crickets and whatnot. This one started with me in my bed, around 2am. I was exhausted and just about to fall asleeo but I heard this weird pained mewling from outside. It sounded like a cat so against by better judgement I got out of bed to go have a look and sure enough there was a stray wandering by the woods. I really want a cat so I decided to go say hi to see if i could get it to come with me. I also saw my landlord out there with a gun (my old landlord for some reason) so i got worried he was going to shoot the cat. I didnt even bother putting pants on, i just threw shoes and a shirt on and ran out. when i got out there, we were somehow in my parents backyard. It was oddly quiet and the grass was super long. my landlord was in the middle of the lawn with his gun, looking terrified as he looked around. I asked him about cat, and he shook his head and said no, its a snake dog. Right when he said that, i saw a huge serpent slither past me. This thing was at lesst a foot in diameter and probably 20 feet long. I saw the tall grass shake in various places as the serpent made its way around. Now I was scared too, looking around for this snake dog whatever that was. Finally, the snake dog reared its head and confronted my landlord. It had the head of a snarling dog and the body of a spiky serpent. The fur on the dogs head was matted by some goopy substance, and it looked like it had been through hell. But the snake dog barely noticed me, it was focused on my landlord. Behind the snake dog, I saw the cat, so I started creeping towards it. Meanwhile the landlord pulled his gun and shot the snake dog in the head. The snake dog reeled and startee crying but didn't die. And then it spoke. It had the goofiest, most gentle voice imaginable when it spoke. It said with pain in his voice "John... why are you doing this? Its me, your dog, ____" (I don't remember the name he said so i left it blank). Now there were tears on the landlords face and he said "you have become a monster, you're no longer the ______ I knew" and shot him again, but didn't kill him. The snake dog just whimpered and reeled again. Meanwhile I was still chasing the cat the whole time but couldn't quite catch up with how quick it was. At this point the snake dog noticed me, but I knew it wasn't the bad guy here so I didnt really care. Finally I saw my chance to catch the cat, it saw me and looked like it was running towards me, so I opened my arms to catch in a hug. the snake dog said something like "see, that person loves his pets." I didnt see or hear what happened to the snake dog after that because of the cat. I saw in happening in slow motion for some reason, the cat just barely slipped through my arms and got by me. I watched as it ran behind the shed (we're still in my parents backyard) to the part of the yard i was always afraid to go as a kid because of all the mushroomd thay grew there. I decided to suck it up, because I really wanted to befriend this cat (it looked sooooo soft and silky), so I followed it. When I got back there I couldn't find it, but I was also nervous so I didn't look too hard. I did see a huge rabbit eating grass. As I was watching it, another much smaller rabbit just came and hopped on top of it and sat there. After a few seconds, they both turned to look at me. I wasnt sure what to make of it but I woke up right after that
