Our Upsidedown

I was in a world like the upsidedown from Stranger Things. However I was just stuck in this large YMCA like bulding. But there wasn't just one monster, there were different creatures roaming around, creatures like SCPs from the videogame. I was running around trying to survive, I'd been there before, in another dream. I knew where to go and what to do to avoid getting killed and even had a small base in an opening of a vent where I found the monsters couldn't get me. As I was out trying to get more food from the kitchen area, I came across another person. It was a dude about my age who looked scared as hell and was crouched like he was hiding. I tried to ignore him, thinking only about how to get into the kitchen when I hear him scream and run towards me. He said there was a monster around the corner. I told him to shut up and stay low so I could figure out which monster it was. Although I didn't have names for most of them, just mentally identifying them by physical features, I could tell this was one we wanted to avoid making eye contact with. If you looked at it and it looked back it would charge you and chase you as long as it could. But so long as it can't see your eyes your good. I quietly explained it to him and we slowly walked around into the kitchen. Once inside I started stocking my bag with canned food and rice. The other dude, who I don't remember his name but let's call him Ben, after watching me for a bit found a bag and also started collecting food. I didn't pay much attention to him, the more people the more vulnerable so I packed up my bag and started to leave. When Ben saw this we quickly scooped some more items into the bag he found and ran to catch up with me. I didn't say anything as he followed me. I didn't plan on inviting anyone into my base but I felt couldn't deny someone. We walked in silence for a while until he broke the silence, speaking quietly he told me his name and I told him mine. He seemed slightly less scared then when I fist saw him but still nervous and walked close to me. He kept asking questions about me and this place and I gave short answers, even in real life I'm a bit of an introvert. I stopped in a small hallway, near where I knew a specific knife-handed monster hung around, and peeked around the corner. At this point Ben had stopped talking and without looking I could tell he became more anxious I turned back at him and he looked like he was about to ask what was going on but his question was answered when we heard the soft scratching of metal on the floor around the corner. I peeked again and saw it lurking down the hall. I cursed quietly and crept over to a near by box. I'd been there long enough to know it's best to store weapons along the ways to important places, like this hallway leading back to base from the kitchen. I pulled out a staff a bit shorter than me and approached the hall. Before I did, Ben grabbed my arm and gave me a "What the hell are you doing" look. I pulled him into the hall enough to where I could point out the door we had to get through. I assumed he understood and I slowly crept towards that direction. The monster was facing the other direction but right outside the door. I kept my eyes locked on the creature waiting for signs of attack. As I approached the door I realized I couldn't get though without it seeing me. I took a few steps back and braced to swing at the monster. Before I did I glanced back at Ben and gestured for him to run through the door. Then I looked back right as the creature was turning around. I hit a trigger on the staff and a blade shot out turning it into a large scythe. I swung but the creature saw me in time and blocked with it's own bladed hand. I jumped towards it pushing it away from the door allowing Ben to run through. I swung a few more times hitting it's neck. I knew that'd only by some time so I threw the scythe back where I'd gotten it and ran to catch up with Ben. He realized I threw the weapon and seemed hysterical over it. I told him to just keep running. We eventually lost the monster and got to my base. After hitting a few switches a rope latter dropped from an opening in the ceiling and we climbed it. Inside were a few small rooms only big enough to sit up in. We crawled to a roon that had a few monitors in it connected to a small generator. They were security cameras and one had a layout of most the building with little red dots moving round. In the other corner were full water bottles and 2 cans of food. We sat and emptied our bags. I went over to the computer and checked the cameras around the base. Ben finally spoke again, thanking me for saving him. I didn't respond, honestly I wasn't happy about it because that's one more problem to deal with. He didn't exactly seem like a fighter, or even that brave. Here asked a few questions about the base and I, again, have short answers. Like a stray dog, I didn't want to get attached, incase anything happened to this dude I'd need to move on. The rest of the night was spend answering questions about this place and eventually it turned into a conversation about ourselves. It was weird, like we'd just gotten set up on a blind date and trying to find out more about each other. Neither of us remembered how we got here but we remembered our lives before. After awhile I told him I was going out again to find some more water bottles. I told him to stay here but jokingly threatened him if he were to take off with my supplies. I think he got the message and I left. The water bottles were just pasted the kitchen but luckily I got there without running into anything. As I went around the kitchen I heard a noise behind me, when I turned around to see what it was... I woke up.
