Truth Revealing Octopus

My friends and I were playing pool in this dangerous bar, the place was full of bad people, drug dealers and thieves. Everything was fine until we heard police sirens and a guy nearby told us it wasn't a good idea to stay there. We ran into the woods, we split up but we gather again, now on this park with concrete benches and chess tables, there was even a public pool. I seen a police vehicle approaching, an officer followed us on foot. He had a black octopus around his neck. For some reason we stopped near the bathrooms. The cop caught us, the octopus seems to know the truth. The officer was about to ask us some serious questions and there was no way to lie to his pet.
