I was expected to die, from some illness or disease maybe. So my family arranged for my funeral. However, against all odds, I lived. They went through with my funeral anyway. It was a week-long nonstop service. My friends and family were there, along with a guy I had just started dating for about a month or two. There was a registry of clothes and accessories that people could order for me to support me. A few people from my high school class walked in- Zack L, Rachel G, and Lauren S. I was shocked and embarrassed. I approached them and explained that I was supposed to die but actually lived. I started to say “this was supposed to be only family and close-“ meaning to say “friends” after but stopping myself mid sentence, realizing that sounded rude. They stared at me with extreme judgment and wordlessly left. On day 3 I noticed the guy I was dating seemed incredibly annoyed and unhappy. I realized I had not spent any time with him so far as I was preoccupied with my best friend and also my family. He said something came up and he had to leave early. I told him my feelings for him saved my life. I wanted to be with him so bad that I lived in order to do so. This completely changed his attitude and he decided to stay.
