Finding Myself in Two Uncomfortable Situations

I walk into a house, which is supposed to be Devan and Peyton’s, for one of our game nights. I was running late and apologized when I walked in. Peyton didn’t seem to mind, but Nicole wasn’t really acknowledging me. I immediately feel horrible. I sit on the couch with her to watch Friends. I try to make a comment, but she doesn’t answer. After a few minutes, she gets up and leaves the room. I stay on the couch by myself while everyone else is in the next room, but then I decide that I don’t need to force myself to be lonely just because one person seems to be mad at me… Now I’m somewhere else with Nicole and a bunch of couples from Journey. I wind up sitting with Mel who seems upset. We catch up shortly before she begins ranting about her supposed marriage problems to me. Caleb (except he’s actually Jared Vasquez from Manifest) is standing nearby, which makes this all way more uncomfortable. Mel continues to cry to me about how such a jerk Caleb is to her. She gives an example from when they were still dating and I think to myself “Why did you wind up marrying him if he was always like this?” I try to comfort her the best that I can, but I’m really not sure what to say.
