There was a man living on some sort of island above the clouds who was sort of an outcast. He was a trouble maker and the illegitimate child of their former leader. There's a book kept safe within the leaders home that records everything there is to know about the world and the man feels drawn to it, but because he isn't part of the leaders staff he isn't supposed to have access to it. and being a well known trouble maker means the chance of him getting to that book is slim to none. The man has 3 children. two boys and a girl. He wants a better life for them and feels he can get it below the canopy of clouds and leaves below their island. people aren't supposed to go down there - they are told that it is far too dangerous. however, despite this and despite how everyone treated him, the man wasn't willing to abandon his people completely and stole the book and jumped with his children through the canopy, being caught by clouds and vines alike for a safe landing. The land below was fertile and the man quickly began a better life with his children as a farming family, living off the land and even finding some animals to use as livestock. soon, though, the man decided to return to the world above to tell the people what he had found. with enough food to last them, he left his children behind and returned to the surface, immediately being arrested for stealing the book. everything he wrote was disregarded as false as everyone believed the land below the canopy was too dangerous. oddly enough, the leader was the only one who seemed willing to listen to him. The man knew this would happen and prepared himself for punishment. while glancing outside he saw his youngest child and the leader standing at the edge of the island they had jumped off to begin with. The leader jumped and the child noticed their father looking and motioned for him to remain silent before jumping down after them. just a few days later the leader returned, revealing that everything the man said wad true and allowing his release to return to his children. Not many people came below the canopy for a long while, still fearing what potentially lied below, but the man's reputation was saved and he was able to return to his children.
