Alternate world apocalypse

I'm in a world where everything is slightly smaller. My family is there. We're in what looks like the good times where I work, but I know we're far away from home. It's darker like at sunset, but it's been like that for hours. We started driving(?) away from something and the area gets less and less familiar. There's something wrong with certain dyes or some thing, where when the storm that we're running hits it, there's a chemical reaction and the fumes cause hallucinations. We're in some sort of house when it hits, and I start to struggle with what is "real". I couldn't remember who I was just with and nothing made sense anymore.
