This is set during the apocalypse, where the earth has gotten so warm that rising sea levels have caused people to become stranded on high ground. A bunch of people and I were trapped in a half-finished skyscraper. As a kid (in the dream world), I had always had the power to shapeshift. There was a special doctor that I went to when I was little who told me what kind of shapeshifter I was and what my other form looked like. As I grew older, I forgot this information, but I still knew that I was a shapeshifter. I didn’t practice shifting often, so I was a little rusty and not many people knew that I could. So back to the apocalypse. The sun’s radiation or whatever had given other people the power to shapeshift, and some of the people in the building with me could do it. So I told them how to shift, and I told them that we would help the people that couldn’t get to safety. I thought that my form was a dragon, because that’s what everyone else shifted into. We airlifted people one-by-one to the nearest doctor’s office, which just so happened to be the same doctor who specializes in shapeshifters that I visited as a kid. I noticed that it was harder for me to fly than it was for the others, but I had a lucid dream moment where I rationalized this difficulty as me being in a dream, and I had to focus extra hard on flying to be able to do it. After all the people were out of the building, the doctor gave the other shapeshifters the same spiel he gave me when I was little. He told them what they shifted into and gave them a physical description of their other form. He didn’t do the same for me because he had done it in the past, but I wanted him to because I couldn’t remember what I shifted into anymore. After the other shapeshifters left, I went to the doctor individually and asked him for a reminder. He told me my shifted form was a dimetrodon (side note: I know that this is a species of dinosaur but in the dream it was something else entirely). In the dream, a dimetrodon was basically a gargoyle with the head of a Chinese dragon. He showed me my eye color and the colorings on my head and body. I was a little bummed because I wasn’t the same as the other shifters, and I was afraid they would dislike me because I told them I was a dragon, and they could clearly see that I wasn’t. That’s all I remember from the dream.
