Waking up searching for something from a dream

Date: 8/3/2017

I woke up in the middle of the night and I turned on the lights looking for a tiny octopus that was crawling in my bed. I was a least thousand miles from any salty body of water. I tore all of my sheets and blankets off my bed and flipped my bed over looking for this. I decided since I could not find it the octopus won't bother me any more so I went back to bed. It was not a dream that I had tore my bed apart, but maybe I was sleepwalking? Or I dreamed of this octopus and was looking for it and I was not all wake? Idk I will let some dream expert explain in comments if they wish.
