Escalator

I was in a shopping mall and went up the escalator. At the top of the escalator there was just a blank wall with nowhere to step off. I had to climb over the banister and wait on a ledge for the escalator to start going down. There was an old man behind me and he was waiting too a little lower down. When the escalator reversed, it temporarily lost its structure and the steps became very steep. The man behind me didn’t want to wait for it to level off and he took a running jump, trying to land on a step. He missed and fell all the way down. I lost sight of his fall but I saw him at the bottom with his leg all shredded and he couldn’t move it and had to crawl or slither to the side of the mall, bleeding everywhere, but he didn’t seem to be in pain.
