Vulture Totem

This morning I saw a vulture crouching down over a small dead animal while I was checking my mail. I was unfamiliar if the large bird and quickly shut my front door because I had feelings of fear. I watched the bird as it flew on top of the house across from me. It’s wingspan was nearly 5 foot long. It moved from the house across from me to the funeral home diagonal from my home. I watched the bird and still had feeling of fear. I began to question if this was a totem animal for me, and if something in my life was dying off. After a little research on the vulture totem I came to realize that I was very wrong. The vulture represents birth and death as well as new beginnings. It represents positive energy, new visions, and protection. A reminder to grab onto opportunities as they appear and to be resourceful using wisdom instead of hard work. The vulture is a promise that difficulty is temporary and essential for a greater purpose. The vulture is known as the golden purifier, purifying the land and atmosphere in its own unique way. Representing positive energy needed to conquer life’s problems. It uses earth energy to soar through the sky. A vulture is always searching for something, and will stop at nothing until it is found, using gravity to its advantage. Spotting a vulture could be a sign to patiently think over everything in sight and be sure before taking action. The renewal aspect of the vulture reminds us to open our arms to a new day. I believe this vulture came to me because I am battling to find my balance with grad school along with fighting back overthinking of a recent break up. I need to uncover a plan to study my course work through the week and not stress myself out too much. “Work smarter not harder”, Sunday I will come up with a complete plan to make this meaningful coincidence concrete.
