Two Engagements Broken

My current fiance, Jacob and I learned that a man that id known back in high school (the guy who took my virginity actually) recently left his wife. He randomly asked if I wanted to marry him but only for benefits as he is in the military. Jacob was all for it since we could still be together but we'd be able to move into a house. However we had to travel a long way to get to the wedding which my parents were planning. We got there when it was nearly too late but when we arrived, the other man was not there. It seemed the wedding was off so I excited told Jacob that we could just get married now instead. Jacob told me he no longer thought we should get married and left me.
