Spiral staircase

I dreamed that I was walking up a metal spiral staircase. It was some kind of competitive event because many other people were doing it too. I climbed higher and higher and at each level my fiancé was there to encourage me. The higher I got, there were fewer people walking up the stairs with me. The stairs were not supported and would swing around the cylindrical room more and more the higher you walked. I became very scared of falling and stalled. I only had a few flights to go when my fiancé asked if it was ok for he and his buddy to leave and go cycling. I felt abandoned and was no longer sure why I was competing in this scary spiral climb.
