They thought I was homeless

I went to my job in the hospital, and the basement had a McDonalds run by security. I went there to grab some food before my night shift. It was dark and gloomy, with flickering fluorescent lights. There were bars in the windows, and there were several homeless individuals there. The security guards weren’t very kind to any of the customers including myself. I approached the window to order, the person taking orders told me that I looked like I was a vagrant, and asked how I planned to pay. I got very angry, showing him my badge and telling him that I worked at the hospitals and that just because I wasn’t wearing any makeup, that didn’t mean I was homeless. I was very insulted. Their attitude toward me changed immediately, but I was angry that they would treat the homeless any differently than myself. I went to the floor of the hospital that I was just hired on (in real life I will start on this new floor in January) and I spoke to the nurses there. I chatted with them for so long that I somehow ended up being an hour and a half late for my scheduled shift. I called the staffing office and they chastised me for being so late, but they also said that I wasn’t scheduled to work that evening, so it ended up being ok.
