Absent-Minded Professor

I'm in class the day before a test trying to make sure I know everything. Class is about to end. The teacher asks someone to read one last example from the last part of the textbook that will be in the exam. As he reads it for himself, he says to himself, and the class seriously, "Oh. That's all we've gotten up to? We should be futher. I made the test covering through the next few sections." I am surprised at his candor and out-of-touchness for such an honored and intelligent professor. At the same time, with a superior tone and attitude of disregard for students, he seems to be blaming us for being behind. I stay after class a little to see what he decides to do regarding the exam.
