It seemed to be Christmas morning. It wasn't a white Christmas. My family was there. We were all happy. I was sitting watching my brother in law hold my nephew, his child, in his lap while he played the new halo game. To the right of me was our big window to the front porch and the yard. The street. Light snow on the ground but it wasn't bad. My mom pulled up in her car and I saw t through the window. A maroon Ford Explorer. She yelled for all of us to come outside and seemed to be staring into the sky towards the west just above the horizon. No one else seemed to care to come outside but my dad and I. Everyone else was to concerned with presents. Suddenly the sky started turning dark and the moon appeared bigger than usual. Something you see in movies and photoshopped pictures. It was so big it was almost sci-fi like. As the sky was gradient, getting darker, stars appeared like they were freshly splattered paint against a black wall. They were so big and so small and so bright. Then a projection like image appeared on the moon as if someone took a volley ball and held it in front of a projector. But this projection fit the moon perfectly. The Statue of Liberty appeared with a waving flag in the background. Then our neighbors from all around came to outside as well from the quick change from morning to darkness. We all stared up as messages came across the moon that I hardly remember. But the last one I remember was another waving flag and then the words "remember the world" showed up. A few seconds later the moon had exploded into chunks and it was like an ice cube being cracked. It was in pieces big and small. We all screamed and gasped. Then suddenly those stars became closer and fell against the ground. As a kid I believed stars were the size they looked in the sky. As the size they looked, was the size they fell. They fell like silver shining confetti, all over the place, but as they hit the ground they shattered like glass. Then suddenly birds started hitting the ground as well. Over the horizon you could see a bright orangish red and fire like light come like a wave. You could see debris like rock chunks and suddenly felt a huge sort of shockwave. I was scared and ran inside. I thought I was dreaming in my dream. Then suddenly I woke up and I went outside and looked at the sky. All seemed okay. I went back to sleep.
