Break In

I was at home, up early working on lesson plans, I believe. Around 3am I hear the front door being tampered with. I go to investigate and a screw driver comes through the lock! I bend it so it can't be removed (alerting the intruders of my presence) and bang on the door loudly (expecting the burglurs to scurry away). From the window we see each other and the guy gestures me as if I did something wrong and walks away slowly. I'm fast forwarded to the morning and my family is up and about to go somewhere. I go into the garage and see it has been broken into, nothing missing, but trashed. I knew immediately who it was and why it had happened but seemed to be the only one concerned about the situation.
