So the dream started with this long, drawn out story which was basically a love story. In this world there were two types of supernatural ‘themes,’ each of which had creatures, powers, portals, monster hunters etc. all linked to the theme. One was light, the other was night. Light wasn’t actually bright or white like you’d think; Essence of light was pink and swirly and sparkly. Creatures of light included (but weren’t limited to) unicorns, glowing pink and powerful versions of regular animals, pixies, and pink dragons with white bellies and angelic faces. However don’t be fooled by these creatures’ innocent seeming appearances. Creatures of light were dangerous, deadly and violent. I remembered a lot about the world and how it works so below is a lengthy description of it all. Unicorns, though they looked just as beautiful as in the myths, were known for having deadly tempers, being easily angered or frightened, and being VERY territorial. They would charge people down and impale them with their horns or stomp them to death with crystal hooves for even just looking at them the wrong way, and if you managed to escape them they’d use powerful magic to send giant, path-driven earthquakes, angry pixies, and even tree golems after you. To be killed you needed to either use something imbued with power of light (whether it be an actual weapon, magic, or somebody with light powers) or stab them with a unicorn horn. Night powers could also be used but the difference between the two meant that you could also hurt yourself when trying to deal with light powers using night. Pixies were just as evil, and mainly they looked like balls of pinkish-golden light with wings. When close-up you could see a tiny, tiny person in the light, with elven ears, a pointy face, and an ambiguous body. They were super fast and had tony hands able to slice through human skin, and started off annoying but could end deadly. They were easily angered but their tempers wore off quick, and you could persuade them to do anything by offering them light essence or something sugary. Monster hunters of the light faction often carried a chocolate bar or two because of this. They were basically pure essences of light when it came down to it, so killing them would make them ‘bleed’ the gas-like, strange-looking essence of light, and their skin and wings and everything else would melt down into the stuff after a few seconds. This is why they can be controlled by anyone or anything that has power over light. For anything from light magicians to unicorns, pixies were just essentially docile, and even controllable if you know how. The dragons with white bellies looked very angelic, with large almond-shaped eyes glimmering rainbow like a thousand jewels, elegant faces bearing smooth, shiny scales and graceful movements, they seemed almost godly. But they were even more dangerous than all other light creatures combined. They were highly intelligent and territorial, however they mostly stayed to themselves in the sky. If anyone happened to come across one though, the dragon would swallow them whole. The light dragons enjoyed manipulating people and thrives on the terror that came of it. They’d burn cities and stand in the flames, watching almost peacefully as their work unfolded. At the end of the day it is possible to befriend them, although it’s highly dangerous and a terrible idea. You’d find a knife in your back as soon as you stopped obeying the dragon’s every wish, and if they even suspected you were trying to betray them you’d have an even slower and more painful death than if you simply fought them in the first place. Luckily, there were few of them, and the few that existed lived in the mountains. But to kill these creatures you needed something immensely powerful. You needed something known as a light-imbued weapon. These were rare and hard to come by, because of their power and mainly because of how hard they are to make. These be anything from a sword to a bullet, but they all are easily recognizable as being light-imbued. They are made of pure silver, however the metal glimmers like crystallized rainbow, to the point where you can hold it up to the sun and see through it. No matter where you are it’ll send spots of color dancing around it, even if there’s no sun, like it’s stained glass or something, except the colors are much to bright and the material is obviously crystallized in the way that it shimmers. A pink glow emits from the base of it, and in a dark room it provides its own light. And it almost seems to hum in your hand when you hold it, like it’s alive in some way. Light-imbued weapons were made in a long process. First, you take the weapon and forge it from regular silver. However, you must find a way to include some sort of magical essence inside. Most people use pixie dust because it’s easy to put inside of whatever you’re forging, however using a dragon scale or tooth, unicorn horn or hair, or even the hair of a glowing pink regular animal would work as well. The more powerful the creature you’re taking from was, the more powerful and pure the weapon will turn out, so if you can find a way to put a dragon scale in the weapon that would give you something even more powerful. After it is forged, you must make sure the rest of the weapon is at least somewhat light-imbued, or it will unpurify after a short time. For example, if you’re forging a light-imbued bullet, you must also make sure that the gun is, at the very least, forged with pure silver. You don’t even have to imbue it with anything light-related, although that is highly suggested if you want a more powerful and reliable weapon. All you have to do is add something light to it. The least amount of effort would be to rub it smooth with pixie dust until it shines, to encrust a dragon scale or tooth into the handle, or to string a unicorn hair around the barrel: however remember, as soon as the light essence you used wears off or comes off, the weapon is no longer a weapon of light, and even if your bullet is good, the gun will not shoot it. The same goes for any weapon made where the entire thing isn’t pure: the weapon will not work as intended unless it’s all pure. This is why it’s suggested to forge it into the weapon. After you have forged it, you must make sure you follow a strict schedule. For three days and nights a smith must continually rub it with pixie dust until it shines, then imbue it with pure essence of light, and then rub with pixie dust again, until the end of the three days and nights. Because of how obviously tiring this is, several blacksmiths are needed to forge the weapon and keep the cycle going. If it is stopped for even a second it is all ruined and you must start over from the beginning. After the three days and nights, the weapon must be polished one last time with pixie dust until it sparkles. The silver should now have a rainbow tint to it, and glow a low pink color. To finish the process, the weapon needs to be put into a barrel/bucket of pure essence of light, so that it is completely covered and surrounded by the essence. The longer you let it sit, the more powerful it becomes. However you must resupply the barrel/bucket with new essence of light every hour, as the weapon will be absorbing the essence. Keep this up for at least a day, but for however long as you can depending on how powerful you want the weapon to be. Then, after you think you are done with that stage, you will need some sort of light magician. You must take the weapon, and, without touching it, dump it into a bucket/barrel of the same depth that it filled with the blood of a light creature. Unicorn blood is preferred but not necessary. Let it soak for an hour, and the magician will be needed to place spells on it while it’s soaking. The spells are in some sort of magical language but translate to something like: “Powers of light, into this [weapon] I call you. Powers of light, settle yourself here. Their glow will be pure, their shine deadly. Let this [weapon] be pure and powerful. Let this [weapon] be unbreakable. Let this [weapon] glow brighter than those foes it wishes to destroy. [Weapon], I name thee [whatever the weapon will be named] to slay these monsters of light.” then repeated until an hour is up. Again, like the essence of light this can be done for as long as you want, each hour needing new blood but adding new power as well. After this, your weapon is onto the final step. Take the weapon from the blood, and do not clean it off. You should not be able to see any of the weapon underneath as it has a thick coating of blood over top. Simply sit it on a tray of silver in the sunlight, and let it soak in the sun. When the sun has evaporated the blood, the weapon will have the crystal-like appearance and it will be able to slay any creature of light. Obviously this seems a bit much for just a weapon, which is why it’s so hard to come by. Dragon teeth can be used as a substitute for light-imbued weapons, but are nowhere near as powerful and tend to be brittle once taken from a dragon’s mouth. There are also magicians of light, who tend to be uptight and prissy and very strict about their powers. They can control the essence of light to their will, and often are born, not created. They are the offspring of a light creature and a human, or more often than not, of a human who has been accidentally imbued with essence of light and another human. This happens mainly to monster-hunters who hunt creatures of light. The exposure to constant essence of light puts them at ‘risk’ for being imbued with that power, and although the people won’t notice the power in themselves, whatever offspring they produce will notice the powers. Also note that most creatures of light can have a ‘human’ form which is why this is not bestiality I promise. Creatures born with human forms are a topic of debate in this world. On one hand, their parents (which are regular creatures of light) will sometimes cast them out or even kill them when they find out that they have a human form. Sometimes they are given mercy and raised by their parents, and this makes them much more wild and dangerous than normal. On the other hand, they are often found or even taken by monster-hunters, light magicians or other similar humans who will raise them as their own. This is how they can eventually even become monster-hunters despite being a monster themself. Monster-hunters usually spare them for the most part, but a few, more cruel monster-hunters will even kill them. Their ‘human’ form is revealed when they are younger. After this, they tend to prefer human form, and although they can change back into their regular form they will have a changed, more human-like mind which is very obvious. It is unknown what causes them to be born with ‘human’ forms but they always exhibit the same traits. They are way more docile than their parents or monster counterparts, and although they are born like a regular creature of light, they usually find that they can shapeshift into their human form when they are a few years old. Their human form is exactly what it sounds like: a mostly-human shape with some traits of their monster selves. Dragons in human form will have horns, wings, and snake-like eyes, along with the ability to create fire with their hands and not get burned at all. Their skin is usually slightly pigmented pink, or else they have a pink birthmark, or freckles. Their eyes are the same almond shape and the same rainbow color, with long lashes that go to the side almost like a natural cat eye. They have slightly pointed teeth and are often very smart. They are light-skinned, for the most part, although it varies from dragon to dragon, and they can be a bit aggressive although way more negotiable, especially if they’ve been raised by humans. Unicorns in human form are beautiful. They also tend to have very fair skin, smooth and unblemished, not a single freckle, birthmark, mole or anything. Their faces themselves are very pretty, with perfect features that are almost off-putting ; large eyes the same color as their unicorn form, with long, separated lashes; full, light pink lips that are almost the same color as their skin; even their noses seem to remind you of the unicorn form. Their hair is the main pointer, as it is long, flowy, and is a silver color that shines rainbow colors in the light. They are faster and more graceful than regular humans, and their nails are short but as sharp and strong as steel, or as their hooves used to be, the same crystal color as well. They are easily angered and hold grudges but aren’t anywhere near as aggressive as their unicorn counterparts. Pixies in human form tend to look pretty much the same, except bigger and less glowy. They have the same pointed faces and ears, the same hair and ambiguous body and even the same pixie wings. Their skin seems to emit a slight golden-pink glow but otherwise they’re not nearly as bright as regular pixies. They are very easily persuadable and not exactly the brightest, but they are super energetic and very VERY fast. They have super sharp and hard fingers which are able to cut, although not to sharp it can slice through skin. Their voices are very fast and high-pitched, also and indicator of their heritage. All creatures of light in human forms are still powerful, and are often sought after in wars between creatures and humans. Creatures of night are mostly the same in how they work. They consist of vampires, werewolves, kelpies, wendigos, black dragons with purplish bellies, and more. The black dragons are the same as the pink ones, except they tend to be cooler and more subtle in their destructive tendencies, which makes them slightly more dangerous when hunting. They live underground but also spend most time flying, coming back to caves. They must be killed with a dragon tooth or with a night-imbued sword, which is the exact same as light imbued except the opposite. Like how you’d figure. The night-imbued weapons use iron instead of silver, and you used nightly stuff instead of light. There were also more ‘human’ forms of the night creatures, even if vampires and werewolves, since they weren’t exactly human. A human version of a vampire of werewolf looked more human and exhibited only a few of their traits. Human vampires didn’t need blood like vampires did- although it did taste good to them, like any other food when they ate it. And werewolf humans didn’t transform under a full moon, although their teeth grew shaper and they got stronger, also maybe a little bit more snappy. Anyways, in the dream there were two ‘factions’ of humans. There was also this school for kids involved with light and night. Magical kids, kids who are the human forms of creatures or the offspring of the human forms of creatures, kids of monster-hunters and even kids who’s families had been killed by creatures were sent to this school. It was kept a secret from the rest of the world but it was huge, and although it didn’t have a main building the teachers were everywhere. They met up in different ‘abandoned’ buildings all over the world, which were all a part of the giant system of this school. The kids from different factions (light vs night) were often taught separately because of the differences between them, however every now and again there was a kid who was both light AND night. Whether a black human-dragon and a pink human-dragon mated, or their parents were two monster-hunters of different factions, or even if their parents were a monster-hunter from one faction and a human creature from the other, these kids were rare and powerful because they had advantages on both sides. Also, to be killed they needed to be killed by both methods (so a dragon human of both types would need to be stabbed with both a light and night infused weapon, for example). Kids who were offspring of two different factions of creatures would exhibit traits from both, meaning they were very unique in both powers and physical appearance. In the dream I was the daughter of a light monster hunter and a dark monster hunter, both of whom had died when I was young. I knew everything there was to know about both factions and was a highly valued student. I was also being taught to fight and to kill and was good at that too. There was this one girl who was another student in my ‘class’ who hated me for some reason. She was the offspring of a night dragon and a night magician, meaning she was pretty naturally powerful, however she had a bad temper and didn’t train much. It reminded me of She-Ra if anyone’s seen the reboot on Netflix: I was like Adora and she was like Catra. Except we weren’t friends even from the beginning. She hated me and I just wanted her to NOT hate me. I was sort of jokingly friendly with her and would generally do what she asked, but she still seemed to have some sort of a grudge on me or something, and was always overly rude. There was also this girl in my ‘class’ who was the daughter of a unicorn and a light magician. She was powerful and beautiful, and angered easily but over ‘righteous’ things. Her anger was terrible and beautiful to behold and it was generally over something to do with her being over-protective. If one of the kids in our class was hurt by a creature she’d go into this rage where she yelled (in a clear, very sexy voice) about how unjust it is and swore to avenge them, and everyone just agreed and kind of stayed out of her way. She and I had been friends, which was nice because even though not all of the kids hated me like dark dragon girl did, they weren’t exactly fond of me because I wasn’t JUST light or night. She was very righteous and she always said that my birth didn’t make me weird, it made me special. She said I got the elegance and beauty of light and the mystery and power of night. Eventually we did that thing that always happens in movies where she falls for me and I’m like “woah ok, Very Hot and Powerful Girl has fallen for me. What the fuck do I do” and we end up as a couple. It’s a very cute coupling I’ve gotta admit because I’m kind of shy but a sweet person and I’m very awkward, and in the dream weirdly powerful and kind of an outcast. And she’s this super powerful super confident absolute queen who’s super protective of me and is always complimenting me loudly wherever we go while I blush and stammer and wonder how someone like Her would even so much as glance in my direction. And in return I’d pretty much do anything for her, when she was raging I’d calm her down and whenever she gets stuck or confused I’m always there to help her out. I call her ‘babe’ or her name and she calls me obnoxious but also flattering names like ‘precious gemstone’ or ‘my universe’ or ‘my sweet forever’ and I’m always pleasantly, completely thrown off by them. In the dream there’s this one ‘mission’ I was sent to go on where there’s one of those ‘abandoned’ buildings that has a bunch of stolen essence at the bottom basement floor. Except it’s a bunch of floors all controlled by magic. And all of the people who enter the building get trapped if they’re not careful. I’m on a ‘team’ with one other person, the dragon girl. I’m kind of worried she’ll use this opportunity to kill me so I’m being extra nice to her. My girlfriend, the unicorn one, wished me goodbye and kisses me and tells me to be safe. I promise her to be fine and drag dragon girl along behind me before she can get into a fight with my girlfriend, who knows about how much the dragon girl hates me. First, we went into the first floor (the main floor/top floor). When we get in it’s a bunch of hallways. They’re long and regular seeming with electricity, and seem to stretch out for longer than they should considering how small the building is. I notice the floor is at the slightest angle downwards. You don’t feel like you’re going down until you turn and see that you have, indeed, gone down a lot. Halfway through dragon girl mutters, “I can’t believe I had to do this with you” and I say back (jokingly!!!) “Aw, I know you love me.” I’m response she snarls and chases me, teeth bared and hands out in claws. I run full-speed (which is actually pretty fast) down the hallways, dashing through the long stretches of floor and sliding around corners, pushing off the wall so I don’t lose momentum. She chases behind me, but I don’t look back. I eventually crash through a doorway into a shop-like place. There’s racks everywhere, the items are never taken off but somehow modern. There are people there who have been trapped for eternity, shopping around but never buying anything and never leaving. I feel the urge to go looking around and have to restrain myself. I know the danger. I crash through an entire rack of clothing against the wall which is hiding a secret doorway, I don’t know how I knew it was there but I did. I come out into what seems to be some sort of army base, the same sort of eternity thing happening: soldiers readying for war and waiting to march for eternity, cleaning guns and clothes and training while they wait, never aware they’ve been there for hundreds of years. The people here are angry when I bust in and start chasing me too; I hear crashing from the store area as dragon girl just runs down racks of clothes, and shouts as soldiers see me come in. “What are you doing here?” they ask angrily. “Get back here!” one man shouts. I crash through another rack of clothes, this one filled with army uniforms. I dash into a circular one and hide inside of it, and most guys run past, but one spots me and yanks me out. I kick him in the nuts and run back and find a ‘back room’ with extra ammo and food stored, and a weird hatch on the floor. One guy comes back, he has a commander look and he has wise eyes. He says, “you’re here to get rid of the magic in the floor here, yes? To free us. Follow me, but quickly, they’ll be back any time.” Dragon girl busts in behind us, looking scared. I put my hands up and say “listen, this place is dangerous, we need to work together-“ She says, “yeah, I know, this place is crazy,” and all of a sudden we’re teamed again. The commander guy undoes the latch on the floor and pulls it up to reveal a ladder going down into a dark tunnel. It’s not that wide so we have to go one after the other, and on the way down we talk a bit, both about a plan and other things. My arms grow tired but I keep going, using a bit of magic occasionally to strengthen my arms, and luckily the essence was everywhere in this place. Dragon girl is actually pretty cool once she actually stops completely loathing me. We climb down into the lobby of a theater. When we go through the doors we come out into a darkened theatre. There’s a few people in the seats but not many, they’re waiting for a show that (surprise!) is never gonna happen. They seem impatient. I have a feeling in my gut that the people here will be like the others, and will try and stop us from continuing, so I tell dragon girl we shouldn’t use the aisles to get to the stage. She agrees. I take the lead and balance on top of one of the red chairs, then run across the theatre, hopping from chair to chair, my feet just managing to balance on the thin back or arms of the chairs. I hop over a few people and they yell in protest but can’t catch me. Dragon girl is behind me, wings spread to help with balance. When I get to the front row of chairs I take a leap of faith and jump onto the stage. Then we go through the stage door to the back and we get to the final room. It’s dark, and smells moldy. Me and the dragon girl draw close, preparing to fight. Her wings are tense and her hands are clawed, teeth bared. I clench my fist and collect magic in my hands, preparing to throw it. I felt a powerful magic in here, essence collecting together into a monstrously powerful creature previously unknown. The dream ends before I can fight, or even see the creature.
