Spiritual meaning?

It was dark out.. me and two other people who I can’t remember were outside of a house getting ready to go in from the car when we notice two huge black cats (like a cougar) with piercing lime colored eyes. The cats walked confidently, with no intention in mind but a destination. As they got closer we realized that someone was walking with them and they too were dressed in all black. I also seen two men who later appeared as if they were going to capture the cats for safety. - I remember thinking to myself someone must’ve called the cops as I guess we weren’t the only ones to notice these cats pouncing the neighborhood. As all of our panic calmed down, we went in and that was the end. I’m wondering if cats symbolize anything spiritually and why I can remember the depth of their stare. Like we made eye contact from so far away. Very short dream.
