Blue Slushie

I was watching a movie in a theater with my family and went out to get a slushie. A horrific monster was on the loose and we had to evacuate, and we took some friends and went to my house. It wasn’t really my house, though. The colors and the floor plan were all messed up. Anyway, I realized one of the friends we brought was Y (crush), except he was way younger. He looked like how he did when we first met each other. Spider-Man shirt and long, silky hair. I said “I don’t remember being this much taller than you.” (Fun fact for dream me: I was never taller than him.) He ran outside into the yard and sat in the grass while the skies clouded over. I followed him out and sat with him while he pouted. “What’s wrong?” I asked. “It’s just some girl,” he huffed. “What happened with her?” “I think she likes me, but she’s never said it out loud. ...And I want to talk to her about it, but I don’t want to embarrass myself. What if she doesn’t like me? How do I win her over?” I recognized the story. Over the months that we got closer, I subtly dropped hints that I liked him, but had no comment when people asked if I did. I knew he was talking about me. “I’m sorry, kiddo. Maybe I can help you. Who’s the girl?” I watched him with wide eyes as he looked at the damp grass in the yard. As the conversation continued, he seemed to get older. “It’s H.” (H is a girl that I did musical theatre with. He has never met her, but I guess he had in this dream?) “Oh,” I said, flustered. “That makes sense. You’re her type.” “What do you mean?” “You’re the perfect bad boy. You get yourself into trouble, but it’s all in good fun. And on the inside, you really do care.” “Ah.” He paused for a moment, then furrowed his eyebrows. “You think I’m perfect?” “Oh!! Haha... well, you’re close enough, I guess.” He was his present self, and he looked at me with those endless brown eyes. They had the stars in them.
