Dani talks to Manu

I'm in a house that is also a college. Alex and I have gone back but it's really not the same since covid. We're circling a tall staircase on the way down and I feel refugee from a rough situation I used to be in. Papu from the gas station by my house offers to take me in. He goes out of his way to try to shelter me. I am aware on some level that I'm not in danger, so I try to explain it to him. He understands but is still protective over me. I go out by the furniture store in the dark and back to find Alex and my friends. Dani, manu, and everyone from the asado is downstairs at the college and I notice that Dani has started to talk to Manu. He offers intense but caring criticism. I frankly leave him to it. Maybe it will have some genuine value. Slipping out to the garden, I hide among some plants and eavesdrop on the conversation. Alex comes out to listen to some music with me and I worry about missing something but realize that my knowledge of the conversation won't change the content or that it's actually happening.
