Hallucination or a dream?

I dont know if I was hallucinating or dreaming, but I was laying in bed with my eyes closed. My boyfriend started whispering to me saying things like:" are you awake? I love you, youre so sweet, cutie" It was an actual real voice i heard. I thought it was cute until the whispering got more aggressive, faster and he started saying more and more fucked up things to me like " I could kill you right now" among other things. I thought it was kind of amusing and that he thought i was awake or something so i opened my eyes about to tell him im awake with a smile, but when i opened my eyes he was turned away from me and not close to me at all. It freaked me out because it was an actual voice talking to me. I was confused aswell. It took me a while before i decided to close my eyes again and when i did the whispering came back so i violently opened my eyes again, but my boyfriend was still very asleep. I Started seeing a face in the corner of my eye, but i didnt look and it was probably just there from paranoia. I fell asleep agaim after a while and then everything was back to normal.
