I was driving home from the mall with my friend, CC, and we both kept hearing sirens, like an ambulance or police car, but we couldn’t see it. She showed me a shortcut to get home, which worked well. She cautioned me to drive slowly in case we had to pull over quickly when the emergency vehicle approached. I looked in the rear view mirror and saw nothing. I saw a car pulled over on the side of the road but other than that, there was a wide shoulder and I assured CC that we could pull over if we had to but so far, there was no evidence that we needed to.
