He screamed

I remember it so clearly. I had finished buying my food at the local Chinese down the road from my house, it was dark out and I was taking a short cut across the main road which was dead at the time and I had to walk up a steep-ish hill to my house. A kid was screaming, the terror in his voice was chilling but I walked on like it was nothing then there was a gun shot and he went quiet as he was killed there and then but the world went on normally, it was like nobody cared and then the dream ended
