Dream Journal Ultimate

So this happened awhile ago, before I even wanted to go lucid. I haven’t had any luck since, but this dream is what got me trying. It was a couple of years ago, but I want to write it down to remind myself what got me lucid for the first time. It was a normal enough dream, full of a bunch of random stuff that I honestly don’t remember. So, towards the end my friend and I were standing in a parking lot, talking. I don’t remember what we were talking about. Suddenly, everything stopped. My friend stopped talking and froze in place. All the people walking towards the store stopped and froze where they were. Cars stopped. Everything stopped, and nothing was able to move except me. I stood there, looking around. Then everyone except my friend just *poof* disappeared, and I was left in a mostly empty parking lot with just my friend frozen in space. I knew this shouldn’t be happening, and then I realized why. The realization that I was dreaming hit me hard. I looked around and went, “Wow!!! I’m dreaming!!!” Now if that happened now I’d be super excited and would try to exert my powers. But I was stupid and what did I do? I became overwhelmed with the knowledge that I wasnt in reality and was like, “OK I need to wake myself up. I need to right now.” I closed my eyes and told myself that when I opened my eyes my real eyes would open and I would wake up. I opened my eyes, but was still in the parking lot. I knew I was still dreaming. “This time, I’m going to wake myself up.” I closed my eyes again and told myself to open my real eyes. I thought, “Ok I’m opening my eyes right now.” Lo and behold, my real eyes were ripped open and I stared up at the ceiling thinking, “What the frick just happened?” I had the perfect opportunity, but I ruined it. Ughhhhh. Hopefully I can learn from this,
