I remember being in what looked like the Mitchell Arcade, the shopping precinct in Rutherglen where I was brought up and went to school. It was after hours and I wasn't alone but I can't remember who it was I was with. I entered Dixons and there was an array of 80s style hifi units lined up in a row. I was speaking to the assistant who I asked how he managed to get the pattern of lights on the equaliser to be slightly out of sync so that it created a delay pattern. He then proceeded to press a button of each of the units to demonstrate the delay. I went outside and looked back in to get a better view of the "show".
