Protecting myself- very triggering dream

This dream was so horrific. In the dream I start to notice a creepy man following me around and stalking me. I report the man to the police and they state that the only way on which they can catch him is if I allow him to assult me. The whole day I am aware of the fact that it is going to happen. I go to the movies with my family and feels his eyes on me. I know I must kill. I hid behind a doot as I hear him sneak into my house. He finds me and pushes me down. He lays his body on top of me. I grab a piece of glass from the nightstand and slit his throat. And then I wake up...
