Dads workshop

I was in my father‘s workshop he had a project he was doing some kind of canvas or paper on the floor he was spreading something that looked like glue all over it ready to attach it to my leg like a cast. For some reason he wasn’t happy with it and had to do another one. I was looking around his workshop to find a tool that he used to sharpen saws. I said all my saws need sharpening you never taught me how to do that and I would like to know now.
