Freedom Fires

So I think I was at a church up north. My sister and I were lying on the carpet of this one room with our feet pressed up against a wall. We were talking for a while, and then we got up. My sister left, but then my ex boyfriend arrived. We decided that we should talk, so we lied down next to each other. While looking up at the ceiling we conversed about his major. It sounded interesting to me. He told me how he was in a relationship and I told him how I was happily single. We laughed for a bit at some jokes we cracked together too. However, I then had to leave. Getting in my dad’s car we left the church and got on the highway. Heading south, we started to see some strange weather. Lightening cracked down from the sky despite there being absolutely no rain. There were only a few dark cloud. The lightening actually hit a tree which then fell over onto the road that now laid behind us. As we approached an overpass, it then collapsed. The cars in front of us came to a screeching halt, and so my dad had to push real hard on his own brakes too. Now we were trapped. This was especially scary since I then saw fire off in the distance. There must’ve been a bad crash on the other side of the fallen overpass which caused it. Frightened, my dad, sister, and I all got out of the car. We started running. Leading the way I lead us into the forest. Yes, I lead them into the fire a bit, but I had to. It was our only escape. We skirted around fires and trees on fire. It was scary. However, we eventually made it out and onto the other side of the overpass. We were free.
