Catered Dinner

I'm in the kitchen with the chef who's showing me what he's prepared for a dinner I'm having catered for a group of people. He speaks quickly as goes over the dishes in French. There's a lot going on in this large commercial kitchen. Everything is almost ready. He's asking me whether to add another dish. It looks to me like everything is almost ready and another dish, even done very quickly may make other dishes be held too long. I can't always tell which food is for my dinner and what's for the next day. He tells me this is for tomorrow in some cases, but it all goes very fast. There are important people who will be at the dinner whom he wants to please. I think that's ok up to a point because I think that if they'll be pleased, I probably will, but I'm the customer, and want to be put first. He's an excellent chef whom I trust, but I'm concerned because I have to trust him at this point. I decide not to add the extra dish because it seems like there's a lot of food and I'm concerned about timeliness. In another part of the dream, I'm writing something in French and look up a word I don't know. There are a few synonyms and I'm unsure of the common usage in the context.
