Story time(??)

So i was dreaming that someone(?) or i was telling a story. It was about humanity and we were being visited by other living things(=aliens?). There was a "MC" who was surprised about the fact that humans can be sad. He told me "don't look for the salt in the ocean; become the salt yourself" i still don't know what he meant by that. XD
